Thaumaturgy. Nothing major, just enough to slightly change aspects of my surroundings at will. Someone tailgates me while driving, now their check engine light is on and their engine is making a weird, undiagnosable noise. A man cat calls me, he now has an unscratchable itch. A kid is upset, now they suddenly taste candy. I feel like there’s so much good or evil that could he done by making nearly undetectable changes to the physical world.

The ability to move and exist outside of time whenever I want. I would love to just hit pause on the entire world, and travel or explore or catch up on projects and chores or just binge a really good video game. If I got lonely or bored I would just slip back into the timeline. It would be a sneaky form of immortality too, because living outside of time could mean not aging unless time was moving. I could get so much done 😫

The power to reset the universe and start it all over again until it learns to do things right.

Time manipulation, like the ability to save/reload or to forsee different timelines. It’s such a powerful force multiplier it’s insane!

Mentally controlling my placement in space. Think like an advanced teleportation where it can also enable levitation and flight/swimming/space movement. Where I want to be there I am, no gravity. Maybe the only challenge is I have to move with Earth’s rotation or I start to fix in a specific point of space and get left behind.

I like the thought of telepathy being both a blessing and a curse admittedly.

I’d be able to know what people are truly thinking, how they think, and what they think of their own thoughts.

It’s weird. Yes you’d learn things you’d probably be better off not knowing or learn some deep secrets about people that might be intrusive or deeply personal, but on the other hand, you could almost be manipulative in a good way with that knowledge.

Always knowing the right thing to say, always knowing what people struggle with, knowing what they need and how to convince them to access the help they require, and even perhaps pulling at strings to get them access to resources they otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

I’ve been learning about the brain and some psychology, it really helps to be able to see between the lines of what people think or their motivations and insecurities. I’ve always had a bit of a read people gift (thanks childhood trauma!). But learning it this way also helped me kill the people pleasing side of me that was super toxic (again, thabks childhood trauma).

I don’t recommend the trauma pathway, but I do recommend learning about the brain, you could pick up enough skills to see what’s happening internally, for someone. I get it now, how psychologists can tell what’s going on with people, without them really saying.

Time flow control. The ability to fast-forward, slow-down, skip and pause the passage of time.

Teleportation. Imagine being able to go anywhere in the world on a whim. There’d be no travel time, no transport costs, no barriers stopping you. You could literally go anywhere and do (almost) anything.

i go back to the jumper movie every once in a while cause the idea of being able to teleport is so cool. ive thought a lot about it and i think id get myself set up teleporting satellites and deep space probes for nasa and esa and stuff. charge like $1M for the big places that can afford it and do pro bono work for university groups and other people on a tight budget. big corporations can get fucked and do it the old fashioned way.
