Sharia law in Saudi Arabia is really theatre. It’s not even remotely followed by the ruling elites, but used as a battering ram against the populace. Very much a Rules for Thee, not for Me situation.
The regime probably figures keeping dissent under check is their most important issue. They can’t fight so that’s all they have along with their money.
Saudis have bigger issues at the moment but i guess Sharia shit law is more important.
