
On August 23, 2024, labor organizer James Jasmines, 63, was abducted and disappeared in Tabaco City, Albay province. At around 10 p.m., he was biking to his rented home from a birthday dinner when he was intercepted by a group of men and forced into a white van.
His friend, cycling activist Felix Salaveria Jr., 66, reported that he was missing. A few days later, on Aug. 28, Salaveria was also abducted near his home. The incident was caught in a barangay CCTV.
The two men remain missing.
