I repaired (read: performed maintenance on) my fridge. It was making noise for months and getting gradually louder and louder, but my landlord wouldn’t fix it. I looked up the inner workings of my fridge and took it apart, tightened everything up, and put it back together. It was quiet and cooled better afterwards.

I’ve done more objectively impressive things, but that would definitely impress five year old me most.
