Bonus points if they are women, feminist, and not TERFs.

I’ve always been a fan of putting on some Alanis Morissette or Paramore (I fucking love Hayley Williams and her new solo album too). I recently found Sofia Isella too. I’m hoping to add more artists to listen to!

VIAL, Tracy Bonham, Veruca Salt, and Rico Nasty are some of my favorites that go hard.

Edit to add: Definitely check out removedology 101 by Lambrini Girls. It’s too good.

Skunk Anansie (early years) - political, loud, angry, lots to say about everything.

War on Women - feminist hardcore punk. The vocalist gives me big Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine) vibes.

Sharptooth - feminist / general political metallic hardcore. Mix of clean and harsh vocals.

Lambrini Girls - UK punk band. Definitely angry music. The vocalist shouts more than sings. There’s even an anti TERF song “Terf Wars”.

Nekra - Angry old school sounding hardcore. Only a few pretty short tracks. They’ve just released a new song for the first time since 2020 and I’m pretty happy.

VIOLENT VIRA - Recently discovered. I think maybe the best way I could describe it is emo grunge? Sometimes rage angry, sometimes sad angry, and a lot to say about everything. Mostly clean vocals with some screamo parts. Seems pretty young still, like the kind of stuff I would’ve loved when I was a teen. But an artist to keep an eye on for the future too.

Run the Jewels has been a staple of mine when I’m feeling fiery for a long time

And I’d like to start getting more into riot grrrl artists, it’s a genre I haven’t explored much yet

system of a down. they have some bad takes in their music, but on the whole its surprisingly accurate criticism of the usa and life under capitalism. i listened to them as a kid and didnt realize how right they were. i dont listen to them much anymore because tbh their music just makes me more angry most of the time. thats all i can really say without getting into politics.
