In response to Russia's full-scale invasion, PepsiCo announced it would suspend production and sales in Russia in March 2022 — and yet, last year it still paid $237 million in income tax to the Russian state.
PepsiCo, one of the largest food and drink producers in the world, remains Russia's fourth-largest foreign business — with 60,000 workers and 19 factories still producing Pepsi Cola for Russian shelves under new names, Lyubimaya Cola and Evervess Cola.

Well, here they have already added extra tax to all drinks made with real sugar so that makes all sodas, juices and some teas, brand or not, way too pricey. And it’s becoming very difficult to find a drink with only sugar, even if it has some sugar they throw in a bit of the artificial shits to get the drink fit a lower tax group… I get migraines from artificial sweeteners, my spouse gets the shits. But those must be healthier than real sugar, right? Only the calories matter, yes?
Water and homemade juices it is from now on, so yeah, the tax is making us healthier at least. Maybe we’ll get a soda stream type machine and fizz up our own drinks?
But not SodaStream cos that’s Israeli.
