tl;dr ICE pretended to be a Spanish-speaking buyer on FB marketplace to target my friend’s wife.
This happened this last Monday, details are in the picture. My friend’s wife is Filipino, and an American citizen. She uses her maiden name, which would sound “foreign” to the average American. That’s probably why she was targeted.
Be careful out there friends.
Also, they don’t care if you’re a US citizen or not. They have quotas to meet.
You can beat the charge, but you can’t beat the ride. Or the multi-week stay, or the illegal deportation a 3rd world African country.

I don’t think Republicans understand this. They think they wouldn’t be wrong in the first place and it will be swift if wrong.
I don’t think Republicans care. The existence of hierarchical oppression is more important to them than them personally avoiding oppression. They will try to avoid being oppressed on a personal level, just like a communist will buy commodities with money or a liberal will help people out without expecting compensation: the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. But if they don’t escape, then being bycatch is a small price to pay for America being great again.

Of course. But that’s an article of faith of the order they support, not a prediction about what happens statistically within that order.
It’s like how Republicans can watch Starship Troopers without understanding it’s a satire. Soldiers dying in stupid ways because of conservative protocols in no way reflects negatively upon those protocols. They can recognize that the tactics will result in failure but that’s observational humor rather than critique.
