Being mindful of others, almost to the point of it being debilitating at times.

Was hanging out with friend from out of town and their parents recently, and I suggested we go to ice cream parlour after a meal. They were all too full, but when I decided to change my mind seeing it would just be about me if we went, they insisted we go regardless.

It was embarrassing enough to me that we were cutting out their time for something that’d only benefit me, but it only got worse when the place I suggested had an unusually long line that they insisted we stay in despite me saying I wouldn’t want to waste their time.

I know it was done because they wanted to treat me, but an experience like that is just against the values I live by.
