For something that came out of Japan in the 1980s, Ranma is pretty progressive.
It completely sidesteps any issues with naming, but when Ranma is a boy, everyone refers to him as a guy. And when Ranma is a girl, everyone refers to her as a girl. It’s never a point of contention beyond the fact that Ranma is cursed to transition back a forth with hot and cold water.
It’s almost as if the politicization of trans people is an entirely manufactured controversy.
Not counting all the sexual assault
The new Ranma on Netflix is really good. I feel like a kid again.
Pretty cool show, i like the new versión too, the old one did have better music mind, also i fear the new ver wont get as many eps.
