Sometimes the positive message is motive enough to post.

What’s the point in questioning it?

This isn’t a positive message. This is just stating the obvious, which literally just makes you question the thing. You don’t write “Murder is bad.” everywhere, do you?

Trans women are women isn’t a positive message?

It’s acceptance. It’s a bold statement in face of the world that doesn’t see trans women as women. It’s a welcoming message. It’s a reminder that this place is a safe place for trans women as well as cis women.

To me, not really. It’s just stating the obvious. I’m fairly sure almost everyone who’s here already knows it and have it as a baseline. So again, who is it for? If one has an opinion on a subject, that means they’ve already researched the facts and derived their belief from logic. So stating this feels more like a “alright, already knew it though”. Constantly stating the obvious makes people doubt themselves, and makes us think “am I missing something?”. This post literally just brings argument even though there’s nothing to argue about…

“Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women’s community is a good fit for them.”

And you have clearly demonstrated that not everyone reads the rules in a community before posting.

So this message, this post, is still relevant for this community.

“Unknownman” - if you don’t want to be perceived as a man, don’t post that you are a man.

idk, it’s just the fact you have to say it implies it’s not obviously true

Like “black men are men” sounds like “I wasn’t thinking they weren’t, but now I’m questioning it”

A lot of people are questioning, out loud, whether trans people even deserve to exist right now.

So yes, the message that trans women are women is an important one and might bring some comfort to someone as they’re browsing.

But are they questioning it here? I thought this was supposed to be a safe space where trans women being women was just common knowledge

Idk maybe I’m being stupid, it came off the wrong way to me, but I’m sure it is helping people :3

I enjoy positive messages in safe spaces. It’s a nice affirmation that the people here in this community are welcoming of trans women. Not all women’s groups are welcoming in that way.

I don’t think you’re being stupid! I think maybe you’re being a little cynical or pessimistic, which I can understand with gestures at everything in the world rn

You’re absolutely right. There’s 0 need to post this. It’s stating the obvious, who’s this meant for? It definitely feels like someone’s beliefs crumbling so they have to keep telling themselves the thing because they don’t truly believe it, they’re starting to doubt it.
