The problem is that it’s more like have a close to 100% chance of having your life and did ruined by standing up to them versus probably getting by like everybody else does if you don’t.
But you don’t get by. They’re going to kill you either way.

North Korea also did this recently. They will now use nukes in response to leadership assassinations or kidnappings.
The US might be working that into the equation.
