The way the Republican party is acting right now, means they think they have won. They can do what ever they want and just be that 2am drunk guy that walks out of the bar and starts punching people. The “What are you going to do about it?” type person. They aren’t acting like people afraid of repercussions for their actions.
Because Americans are owned little bitches, and not going to do anything about it.
Atm, I might argue that an absent McConnell isn’t significantly better for the GOP than a sitting Democrat. They’re functionally down to 52 “Yes” votes in the chamber, either way.
It’s mostly that it’s easier to run as incumbent later if you won this seat now in special election during the iran war.
