I have spent the last two years rebuilding GNOME Boxes from the ground up, driven by three main factors. I spoke extensively about this effort in my recent Linux App Summit, GUADEC 2025 and 2026 talks, but today I am excited to share the result for general testing. First, shifting to a Flatpak-first (and only)...
Boo!
What’s wrong with that?
Not OP but I’d rather not deal with multiple application distribution methods. I’d rather package Boxes myself (I use NixOS BTW) than use Flatpak.
I don’t like flatpak and don’t want it on my system.
Please elaborate why?
It doesn’t solve any problems that I have. It adds complexity.
