I recently switched from lemmy.world to lemmy.today, and I’m happy with lemmy.today. I think it’s the right instance for me.
I have been using the Sync app for 3 years and it’s dropbar doesn’t have an option to login with a lemmy.today account. I don’t know who to contact about it or if there’s another way to login on Sync.
The sidebar on the lemmy.today instance recommends Sync as one of the apps to use with the instance. But I think this recommendation should be removed from the sidebar if it’s not supported on that app.
I was shuffling through different Lemmy apps and saw a notice from Jerboa that I think the app will stop being available on Android in 2027 because Android will demand too much information from users or something. I can’t get the notice to pop up again at this moment.
Boost is working nicely. At first glance, I think I like it more than Sync.
Sync is pretty much dead. The dev left along time ago when everyone got mad at him for setting the price of the app high. The app hasn’t been updated in ages and will slowly stop working, like it already refuses to play most gifs.
Interesting. This is all news to me, though I have experienced gifs not loading on Sync. I am enjoying the Boost app. If what you say is true, I think the lemmy.today admin should consider removing Sync as a recommended app in the sidebar.

It should work since Im using it myself. I have both Sync and Boost installed and switch between them sometimes for variation.
Perhaps Sync is not listing all instances by default, but you can type the instance name in that listbox for login and it should work just fine.
I’ll give it a shot. But happy with Boost app and might just stick with it. Thanks.
They can do whatever they like. I’m still using sync and I find it a gazillion times better than the other options even though it’s a bit broken. But that’s just me. YMMV
