I went to see Sammy Rae & the Friends (great jazz pop band from Brooklyn), and nearly everybody was dressed in 1970s costumes! I understand at a metal show people wear black, but this was next level, very maximalist and intricate costumes. Are concerts all costume parties now, or this unique?
The only concerts I’ve been to in the last 10 years were 2 MCR shows, and I’m not sure there’s any difference between what people were wearing there and what they’d always wear. Goth girls be goth’in.
People definitely amp it up for MCR concerts, theres plenty of people who aren’t Goth girls now but were scene girls in their youth and want to relive the nostalgia at an MCR gig
