Yellow archangel (Lamiastrum galeobdolon), if anyone was curious.

Doesn’t “archangel” just mean the head/authority of the angels (usually depicted as friendly and helpful)? Like how archbishops is to bishops.

Wait, what does this mean for Arch Linux?

It does, but most other things with ‘angel’ in the common name are toxic, eg angel’s trumpets (Brugmansia), destroying angel (Amanita virosa).

It means that it’s Linux shaped as an arch.

Those are different, prefix “arch-” comes from greek “ἀρχι-”, while noun “arch” is from latin “arcus”.

Though, it should be mentioned that initially the meaning was taken from the prefix one, it’s just with time everybody got used to the Arch arch logo and spelling, I suppose.

The destroyer sent in exodus to slaughter Egyptian firstborn was definitely not benevolent.
