I’m always conflicted by my distaine for slop… and my desire to live in the future Star Trek promised me where everyone just describes what they want to the computer.

I’d hate to think those prompts were just being relayed to Space-India or for some poor low wage workers to execute 😅

And star trek has like 20 episodes about asking the wrong thing to the computer and the holodeck going haywire… They were on point if we keep using LLMs

It’s not just the holodeck though… lots of interactions with the computer.

Although I suppose the recognition was baked in, that’s why the bridge had all kinds of other controls?

I mean, I always looked at the holodeck as like… known pleasantries. If you are on the edge of the unknown, unknown planets, unknown animals God knows what’s going to happen. A machine that can kick out some safe “this is a tree” “this is a bank” would be genuinely useful.

Yeah I am in a ship hurtling past light speed and all I want are two trees and the sun with a hammock.

All the more exciting stuff could easily be a mod.
