Nurse meets patient who’s been bashed in the head. The goons who bring him in say “he tripped.” He’s not under criminal arrest, only that he returned after being previously deported, and is going to be back in the custody of the same ICE goons. Beyond her stated belief they shouldn’t be breaking up families, she also hasn’t seen any proof they didn’t bash him and can’t be sure they won’t bash him again. And although he may need further medical treatment for concussion or something, he’s not going to get any in an ICE detention facility. As a nurse her highest responsibility is to her patient.

I’d say she fulfilled that responsibility to the best of her ability.
