My wife walks by the park where the Stonewall monument is on her commute. For #AshWednesday there were queer activists and clergy doing the imposition of ashes for passers by. She went up and they had ashes mixed with glitter. They changed the blessing too: “From stardust you’ve come and to stardust you will return. May the light within you never be extinguished.” She said it was beautiful.
Then she got on a work Zoom call and had to justify the big glitter spot in the middle of her forehead. Best part is that basically the exact same thing happened last year and she forgot.
Anyway blessings on all who celebrate sparkly queer Lent. May your coworkers accept your flustered explanations.
