Edits doesn’t trigger the bot again (the same way it won’t ping a mentioned user on lemmy if you edit a comment they are mentioned in). The bot check for replies/mentions every 60 seconds, so you have on average 30 seconds to edit your comment (not taking into account federation complexity) before the bot parses the message and marks the comment as read.

I honestly don’t know. However it appears that the bot isn’t working.
