at this early stage of the project i think it’s sensible that the founders and main contributors want to keep direct control
hopefully ladybird and servo will help each other and even share ideas/code/crates like dioxus/leptos
it may turn out that ladybird ends up fulfilling what servo promised. may the best code win
Servo
Servo is going he Firefox and gecko route: claim to be embeddable but only target one example browser and actually be horrible to embed anywhere else.
I hope they snap out of it because the way things are going, nobody will use servo and it will just stay an engine with an example implementation.
I don’t think Mozilla ever claimed Gecko was embeddable, they sold it as a framework you’d use to build apps with (i.e. XULRunner)
Meanwhile Servo is already usable by Gtk, Qt, Slint, and Tauri.
