I suggested that the account holder of X account StopAntiSemitism was a Jewish Supremacist to try to make sense of their claims. The comment was instantly deleted, and my account permanently banned. The message on the top says to check my inbox for info, but there’s nothing in the inbox.
To be clear, I am not an antisemite. My antipathy towards Jewish supremacists is the same as my antipathy towards white supremacists, for example. I have a fully humanistic philosophy and I oppose any idea that one group of us is better and more deserving than any other. I have Jewish friends and colleagues who I love and respect. I will not be told that I am an “antisemite.”
Accurate and non racist statements like yours gets banned but comments referencing the explicitly antisemitic “109 countries” meme get upvoted and stay up
Yeah, I think if you didn’t know much about the situation, someone saying something bad about an account called “StopAntisemitism” might look bad. Meanwhile, a lot of the potentially more antisemitic stuff on that sub requires knowledge to understand.
Truthfully, TrueAnon had been the only Subreddit I still participated in and it has been less and less gratifying and increasingly vexing as time went on. It might sound like sour grapes, but after a few days of training myself not to impulsively go to reddit I think I’m better off and they may have actually done me a favor.
Were you banned from the site or the subreddit because for site bans i think its just a bot searching the a couple of keywords so it doesn’t care about the context
I kept telling the idiots on Reddit to stop posting there. Reddit is legitimately their enemy, but most of the posters on /r/TrueAnon are uh… not so thoughtful, I’ll say.
Seriously, what needs to happen before the posters of /r/TrueAnon are imoved to Lemmy? I do not understand their inertia.
