I think the title is not very good, but the list is useful. Unfortunately, it is not likely to be convincing to car companies because money.
I cant believe I am writing this with a straight face, but we need an open source EV platform.

Physical buttons on the steering wheel.

Of note, these are things the article says EVs should have, to avoid stupid mistakes.
Also, this list seems to be missing some, like physical and obvious door handles, a physical button to open the charge port door, turn stalks (I’d go further here and make them be like mechanical switches, not ‘soft switches’ though that might be a me thing). Also a glove box, which idk storage is good, a glove box specifically? Meh.

I agree with another comment that says that it’s not likely that the car manufacturers will actually pay attention to this, but if I’m ever shopping for an EV, I’m going to use this list as a way to disqualify vehicles that I do not want to buy. I don’t think I want to die by interface failure.
