That might be not as stupid as you think. Such camouflages were in use during WW1 (fleet mostly) and somewhat effective because they make it very difficult to see intricate details and thus determine the distance. For the car on the road this won’t be that effective, but still might confuse auto-aim that use only 1 camera(most of them).
Especially with crappy drone cameras it might be somewhat effective
Unless that camera also has FLIR capabilities… Dazzle patterns effectively stopped working on ships when radar became a thing, and tracking an engine’s heat output is about as effective with missiles/drones.
Add aluminum tape! Then you’ll see stripes on the thermal.
Might not have great contrast to the non-taped stripes… alternating stripes of aluminum tape and asbestos tape might do it
