As a former Austin resident I’d like to add a little context to the video. The ICE goon and the Texas state trooper (assholes) are the ones cuffing the guy. It is the APD officers that recorded and started to provide medical care. ACAB, but APD is the city’s police department, and the city is quite progressive.

These degenerates hired to be hooligans, don’t see illegals as people. They have been brainwashed to see them as enemies, criminals, undesirables. They have no compassion in them, they simply don’t care. This is America.
While I agree with the spirit of your comment, illegal is not the right term at all for a few reasons.
- No one is illegal
- He entered the the us “legally” and pleaded for asylum
- It is not a crime to be in the US without documentation
I was just pointing out how these Neanderthals see the people they are targeting. It’s truly unbelievable to see how far the U.S. has sunk, and is continuing to go down. I’ve no interest or plans to ever step foot in the U.S. again. It’s not safe.
I’ve learned that, on Lemmy, it’s necessary to include an explicit disclaimer every time I want to talk about what other people think stating that I don’t share that opinion myself (example from earlier today).
