I started playing TUNIC two days ago, and I’m having a lot of fun. Stumbled upon this little area which is obviously a reference to Blighttown from Dark Souls 1. The swamp below, the wooden scaffolding, the rogue-looking enemies. It’s awesome :D

I was definitely sleeping on it. Had it installed for like a year but didn’t try it out until now. It’s a perfect blend of Zelda and Dark Souls. And all the story telling and tutorials happening via the instruction booklet is just pure genius.

Judging by the map(s) I have found so far, I’m afraid the game might be a tad on the shorter side. Is it? I don’t want it to be over too quickly :c

I have a feeling it’ll be longer and larger than you’re expecting :) but definitely look nothing up!

Lots of cool references, especially souls ones. Once you’ve beaten it you should watch the WGDQ run of it from January 2024 with the dev on the couch commenting on it.

I have not thus far, except where to go after defeating the first major boss, and will not moving forward. I have a feeling in this game it’s even more important than in a standard soulslike to go in as blind as possible and not look up stuff.

I will! I suspect the speed run will be incredibly short since I’ve already stumbled upon many shortcuts that are accessible right there just obscured by cleverly-placed map geometry - probably a lot more of that to come. Truly well-crafted

It absolutely is important to figure out as much as you can on your own. You should be very surprised by it several times over and looking things up will definitely ruin that. There are puzzles to solve and thats all I will say for now. If you get stuck maybe message one of us who played it to get a subtle hint.

Main game isn’t too long. But after that ends there’s a LONG section where you pick apart multiple larger puzzles
