I do have thank @GlueBear@lemmygrad.ml for helping me and giving me advice over a month ago now. Also, @Maeve@lemmygrad.ml and @NotMushroomForDebate@lemmygrad.ml and @Conselheiro@lemmygrad.ml and @WildBirch@lemmygrad.ml and @Ashes2ashes@lemmygrad.ml and @davel@lemmygrad.ml and @zedcell@lemmygrad.ml and @preywife@lemmygrad.ml
Hopefully that’s everyone.
There were a lot of people that helped me last time with giving advice on my health after I had to go the urgent care center near me sometime in March.
Original thread was here:

Anyway, I may not actually have a stomach ulcer (so I may not even have H. pylori, for example) but I have gastritis and likely fibrosis, which I think will be confirmed in a follow-up appointment soon with my gastroenterologist. I’m likely to be prescribed Wegovy soon.
Otherwise, the only thing that had me feeling ill was the quadruple medication withdrawals since December but, thankfully, I’m off all anti-psychotics now (my last psychiatrist kept brazenly prescribing them over and over again). I’m on Day #26 of Prozac (it takes four to six weeks for your body to overcome the side-effects and for it to act fully on your body.
Some of my trans friends say I should wait a bit on the HRT because I’ll be going to live in Spain anyway later this year (I have my European citizenship and passport).
Not really sure what else to say except that I don’t know what to expect from the Wegovy and, frankly, I would’ve preferred to lose weight (I gained a lot since 2020) the old-fashioned way.
Also, I want to go vegan now, at least I think so. I’m more eager to start.
I was recommended a FODMAP diet by a therapist recently to start off too.
Dunno what else to say.
I’m no longer with the CPUSA. I left them and I don’t think I want anything to do with them at all ever.
I have Dominican friends and relatives in Spain so that may be useful.
Not sure what else to say except:
What trans organizations and gender-affirming services can I access in Spain?
Any organizations or services for Autistic folk like me?
How should I go about starting veganism?
What are good ways to build muscle now fast?
Any BIPOC orgs in Spain?
Communist or leftist orgs in Spain?
Anyway, may get my MA there but I haven’t picked a university yet.
I’ve done my own research but am trying to make sure that I don’t miss anything.
Also, hello, everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve been here!

For veganism, I found that when you start it’s a don’t hesitate to eat more volumes of food. Beans are protein dense, but for other vegetables you often just need to eat more to have a proper caloric intake.
For communist orgs, PCE (communist party of Spain) is very solid.
As a Spaniard, I can say that the socdems of the PCE aren’t a good choice for a communist to join, as unfortunately they’re communists in name only these days.
There are other more interesting organisations such as the PCTE, or if you are young, it is better to join one of the organisations of Socialist Movement, which is gaining a lot of support and also has a strong presence on university campuses https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movimiento_Socialista_(País_Vasco). They have a newspaper https://diariosocialista.net/. Furthermore, the members of the organisations of the Socialist Movement are very diverse and include many transgender people among their ranks.
What’s the difference between PCE and PCTE?
I’m not joining any Maoist groups, btw
The PCE is Spain’s historic Communist Party, which, unfortunately, has now become just another social democratic party. The PCTE is one of the many splinter groups that have emerged from the PCE in an attempt to return to the communist path, and at party level it appears to be the one with the most support, although it holds certain controversial positions on trans rights. The PCTE draws inspiration from the Greek KKE.
In my case, I am an militant in the CJS (Coordinadora Juvenil Socialista), one of the organisations that make up the new “Movimiento Socialista” which is booming, which seeks to lay the foundations for rebuilding the Communist Party and expanding it at least to a European scale.
You don’t need to worry about the Maoist issue; it’s marginal in Spain 😁
Is the PCTE transphobic?
I might join the Movimiento Socialista, tbh…
Is PCE in SolidNet?
yes, so is Izquierda Unida, but i know less about them
never heard of Izquierda Unida before…
there are a ton of socialist orgs in spain. if i were you i would look at whats in your area, attend some marches, see who is there / where you feel more connected to the people
How is the movement there in Spain overall?
Spain I would say is one of the more progressive EU states. You probably saw Sanchez making statements against Israel’s genocide or US war in Iran. There has a been waves of social movements in the recent past too, especially around the issue of housing. However I think the communist left has had a hard time capturing this energy. Anything on the left of PSOE is very fractured, but also I think people are afraid of rocking the boat too much, since the far right is on the rise. So a lot of potential, but the future is very uncertain. No idea what will unite the communist left.
ah, seems like the same in America perhaps
i would disagree. progressive movements in Spain have a very different history and the population is much more aware of socialism, worker organising etc.
To give you an idea, this list includes some organisations in Spain that identify as communist. https://estadodelmce.netlify.app/lista
