pride is right around the corner and i know my opinion but im curious to see what you guys think

honestly its such a non issue. the same people yapping about kink at pride have no issue with their children going to church and being told they will burn in hell.

its mostly rooted in corporate bullshit where everything has to be clean for little 12 year old shits to spend their parentss credit card on useless landfilling plastic crap.

i also believe its US centric. in europe kids see old art with noodle tee and its not that big of a deal at all.

I have no thoughts on kink in pride because I’m not part of the LGBTQ+ community, the only thing I feel that someone in my position can do is support the movement by showing up to events, normalizing it in conversations, and denounce homophobic / transphobic comments inside and outside of my circles.

I have a few friends who are very active in the LGBTQ+ community in my city and they invited me over to one of their parties a few months back.

I was kind’ve taken aback by how open everyone was about things, but it also felt safe? Yeah people were definitely prepping for what was going on later that night, but I was so shocked at how open and communicative these people were with each other. Very laid back, a lot of consent being asked, a shit ton of reassuring before they went back to their room and saying it’s perfectly fine if they weren’t up for anything that night.

When I was in college, I joined a fraternity (which I regret for other reasons). Every semester, especially during rush week when there’s hundreds of random freshmen in your house, we had to have a handful of guys every party run security. Basically keep an eye out for creeps / assaults and if it happened they’d get dragged outside, fucked up, and have their ID taken from them and handed over to the school.

This isn’t even mentioning how many “brothers” got dropped after finding out they were doing creepy shit.

Idk I just went on a tangent, but I feel like whatever kinky stuff that exists is probably 1000x safer than white amerikkka’s frat culture.
