What are your guilty media pleasures? Mine are the Lionsgate Godzilla movies, I’m sorry, I just love when a giant monkey and a giant lizard duke it out. I also find insanely strange comfort in the Twilight movies idk it’s weird.
Mystery movies, Knives out for example.
Cop shows. I know, it sucks, but I’ve been watching them since I was a kid

Monarch Legacy of Monsters, has two seasons so far, but it’s pretty boring and bad.
40k lore (can’t be bothered to buy GW’s overpriced figurines tho, lmao) and AUs like the Dornian Heresy.
Much of the Warhammer community are chuds who forget that the Imperium is supposed to be an evil decaying empire and are not le epic based good guys (closest to actual good guys would probably be the Tau, but even that is a grey area considering their mind control), but at least we have Sigmarxism

as in messaging is unintentionally bad or it’s just junk and low quality? i would preface this by saying i don’t feel a lot of guilt about consuming ‘bad’ fiction (‘bad’ fiction as in portrays immoral acts, eg. some people say “oh it glamorizes a toxic relationship,” or like, any nonsense that’s bad in real life they’re like well why show that in fiction?! well, it’s fiction…?)
nowadays with my generation there’s a lot of puritan views on sex, kinkiness, etc. or ‘bad things’ in media, and it’s just perplexing, especially since fiction isn’t really the problem, and i favor a more materialist analysis of sexual violence and a lot of people try to ascribe all sex, or like, homophobia, to ‘bad representation’… which like, i don’t think that’s the case, so i don’t really care… sorry a bit of a ramble.
just generally though i don’t feel a lot of guilt for consumption of media if i’m doing it in an ethical way (piracy in terms of obtaining media or like, using critical thinking if im watching a lowkey social darwinist/copaganda piece of media), so i guess i’m just overcomplicating the question. basically what i mean is i don’t feel guilty about consuming media with morals that don’t align with mine (like i enjoy non-marxist media) and i sure do love junk.
in terms of stuff that is just harmless junk, all modern simpsons in fact that’s lowkey my comfort show. and i mean like ONLY modern simpsons. i might be able to think of more but also kong v godzilla
I occasionally click on a conservantive’s video and watch it just to see their ridiculous argument be taken so seriously (it is a bad habit because then my feed ends up being flooded by conservantives and their awful arguments).
