      No need to be so condescending. I know my close friends and family would care. And I wouldn’t do it just for the sake of flexing but also to work towards my hours for a PPL. Very few people get that opportunity cause of how expensive flying is.

        Oh I know. Believe me, I know. I was 18 when I earned my private pilot’s license, skipped a day of college my Freshman year to take a checkride. That weekend, the most intense argument I’ve ever seen in my family broke out (this should be an indication of how chill my family is): Which grandmother was going to get the first airplane ride. Before things actually heated up, I made a command decision as PIC: The Cessna 172 I flew is equipped with four seats, so BOTH grandmothers are going on the first airplane ride.

        3 weeks later, I was out of people who wanted to go on airplane rides. People get tired of hearing you talk about it fairly quick. It’s just how it goes.

        Didn’t read condescending to me, I’m pretty sure it’s a general “you”, referring to their own experience, possibly coming from similar dreams.
