Hi everyone, Due to a lack of MMORPGs that catch my interest (I’ve tried WoW, FFXIV, and GW2, but none of them clicked for me), I’m currently looking for something else to dive into. RuneScape looks really good to me “on paper,” especially given its huge active player base and basically endless skilling. I previously played New World and absolutely loved its gathering and crafting mechanics, but as we know, the game is dying. I also played “Melvor idle” which to my knowledge is heavily influenced by runescape and I liked this game very much (ye I know melvor isn’t mmorpg). I’m gonna get straight to the point: do you think it makes sense to start RuneScape for the first time in 2026? Aside from playing maybe 20 minutes at a friend’s place years ago, I have zero experience with the game. A few questions I have: -OSRS vs RS3: Which version would you recommend for a completely new player? -Catching up: Is it manageable to learn everything on your own and eventually catch up to veteran players, or would I be permanently behind? -Solo play: Is the game suitable for solo play, or is joining a guild essentially mandatory? Thanks in advance for your insights! submitted by /u/Ghodet
