Hobbies is the answer. Doomscrolling is a symptom of passive lazy boredom. Any hobby (no matter how strange or plain stupid) keeps attention focused and provides a stable income of joy.

Just go and fix that squeaky door handle too. And throw away some rusted garbage from the garage. Bycicle waits for maintenance from last year. And carpet has more dust than the Sakhara desert.

I totally agree with you, just want to throw in that “just go and do x” is not something ADHD folk are exceptionally good at.

Nobody is good at that. The first step is always the most difficult. But there aren’t many alternatives. At least I don’t know any.

My hobby is playing soulslikes and it is NOT a stable income of joy as much as is a stsble income of FRUSTRATION AND ANGER. Until I win, then it’s pure joy for a moment.

Learn both, plus washboard; become a one-person band.
