Why would you take a tomato off of your burger? There’s a special place in hell for people who do that. I think it’s below the layer of lettuce in Dante’s Inferno.

Tomatoes used to taste good. Nowadays you have to buy heirloom or import good ones to know what tomato flavour is, if you’re in America.

A more fun fact: my wife will not want ketchup if there’s a slice of tomato on the burger. The two taste nothing alike, but it doesn’t matter to her. Isn’t that something?

        if you’re in America.

The problem isn’t limited to America. I’m in Italy, where good tomatoes shouldn’t be hard to find, and yet in the last years I’ve started paying much more attention when I buy them.

Shhhhh we only have fake sugar here and definitely not some of the nicest grocery stores and farmers markets filled to the brim year long with good produce. Don’t let the yeruos in on the secret.
