Just buy a Fairphone from Murena with /e/OS preinstalled. You don’t have to do anything yourself. It mainly works like a phone without any issues, all the features I need work on it and I didn’t have to install it manually and supported the devs

You already have quite a good start. Wait for them to adjust and hear feedback before you switch all of it out. A major component might be mail but you might find more reluctance for them to change if they have specific contacts and accounts added. Whats nice about proton tho is you can add a gmail account to easyswitch and for the time being it will just like import/forward all the mails towards their proton account so the switch is easier.

You need to see and feel it out how far they’re willing to go/what they’re comfortable with. It would be nice to know what they rely on and like maybe a country so we can suggest alternatives (for example for amazon it highly depends on the country)

Buy a Fairphone from Murena, the company behind /e/OS. That way you buy a mostly fair produced phone thats ethical. It’s the most repairable there is and /e/OS is a deGoogled custom rom with many privacy features on top.

For me the old element was always buggy but Element X is pretty dope. The protocol has also been audited multiple times and improved quite a bit over the last 5 years. Its not hard to start for others if you just give them one instance you recommend. When it comes to CP I personally don’t know of the issue but I’m not in a lot of spaces. I like that it has voice and video calls tho.
