Trockenkühltürme gibt es schon lange. Sie werden dort gebaut, wo zu wenig Kühlwasser vorhanden ist.

Der Wirkungsgrad ist niedriger bzw. die Technik ist teurer als simple Wasserkühlung.

Das warme Wasser könnte auch ins Nutzwassernetz abgeführt werden, statt in den Fluss. Wenn das Fernheizkraftwerk schon warmes Wasser angeliefert bekommt wäre das okay. Auch Bewässerung kann man damit gut machen.
