The bigger issue is that every fire department has the equipment to put out a gasoline fire, but not many of them have the equipment to put out a battery fire.

It’s not that odd.
Gasoline and diesel cars have been around and commonly used for 100 years. Every fire station from New York to obscure towns in Arkansas have the equipment to deal with burning hydrocarbons.
Not many fire departments have the equipment handy to put out a battery fire. Some bigger departments do, but not all.
So when Jim Bob puts his truck in the ditch and catches it on fire after a Saturday night at the bar, the local volunteer FD can just roll over there and put it out. But when someone’s EV catches fire, oftentimes all that the local FD can do is make sure the fire doesn’t spread to houses or grass or trees in the area, and the car has to burn all the way down.

And the other 1/4 is mythological silliness that makes it look like the US won everything by themselves.
Probably easier to squat in a mansion than to rob a bank. At least to begin with.

Money Obsessed Persons are too stupid to understand cause and effect.

What I keep seeing is that compliance gets you killed.

Because magat assholes are doing their best to fuck over the election?
Good Omens is the name of the book.
Agnes Nutter had concealed forty pounds of roofing nails and eighty pounds of gunpowder in her petticoat.
Which makes me wonder how much of a hulking beast she must have been to carry that.
This is for when they come to your house. At that point your best case scenario is that you’re dragged perfectly healthy to a concentration camp.

Good thing AI is something that doesn’t exist in physical space that someone can tamper with…

Last October my work PC was “upgraded” to windows 11… All the menus are wrong, nothing works like it should, and it keeps trying to get me to poison the air by using copilot. At home I use Linux Mint and it’s amazing. The only thing I’ve tried to do on Mint that it wouldn’t do is play one video game I have called Cosmoteer. Which is strange because I have a lot more complex programs and games that run fine.
Can also bury them raw and wiggling, good fertilizer.
When that game came out my kid was about the age of the Little Sisters… I couldn’t make myself kill one.

It just means “lowest bidder”

Why worry about the opinions of people who eat pizza with a fork‽

Wow, I now have an answer for people who ask why I don’t set up Google pay.

Years ago, I built my mother in law a computer. It had windows XP on it. Every weirdo and their kid who visited her would download another bit of malware/toolbars/whatever, and about once a month I would have to fix it. So I put Ubuntu on it, and it literally never had a problem again. I’d use Mint now, but if you’re doing some basic games and web browsing, Linux is fine. I game with my pc, which uses Linux Mint, and the only issue I had was getting the Nvidia graphics card working. It wasn’t really hard for someone who builds computers but it might be difficult for a “normal” user.

A lot of micro plastics come from vehicle tires… So adding plastic to the roads would probably double that. Yuck.
The Viet Cong would like a word
I’ve been having fun watching this happen with my father. He gets really frustrated with those he refers to as “my fellow old people”. He’s 70 and in better shape and more mobile than some 50 year olds I know.
