Well, I forgot to mention that I don’t just use these audio files on my Linux machine. I use SyncThingy in order to use the same files on my phone as well (which runs LineageOS). So, unless VLC for Android also has that feature, I would prefer a solution that works regardless of which platform I’m using, thus why I was looking to do re-encoding on Linux. Though admittedly, I was also wondering if the answer was no because I thought I might have finally found a decent idea for a project

There’s also Tenacity, which is a fork of Audacity after it was bought by some company iirc. I was actually considering to use it to manually adjust the audio of each file. I didn’t know it had a normalize feature already though, guess it can just do the work for me then

Where would I go if I migrated away? Most of the world is falling into authoritarianism as the child protection laws and the attempts to effectively ban OpenPGP encryption have proven. Not only that, most of us Americans only know English and a bit of Spanish (if even that).

So, even if I moved away and abandoned my friends and family to face the fascist wolves without me, then I’d only be delaying the inevitable. I’d only encourage you to move away if you’re trans, but otherwise we must hold the line here no matter how tempting it is to move away from it.

Normally I’d agree, but ICE is a government organization and since people get their news on social media these days, it makes sense that ICE doesn’t get banned as long as they follow ToS.

Does a verification equate to an endorsement now? I’m strongly against ICE, but as long as ICE exists, then it makes sense to verify their official account. That’s all verification is to me at least, just something to let you know it’s the real _ account rather than an imposter.

Only used X for following artists I liked anyway. What does it offer that the fediverse or Bluesky does beyond that?
