5·1 month agoToo bad the contracts have all been signed years in advance and there are likely huge penalties for breaking contract and leaving. No way this actually happens unless the cost of breaking contract is lower than projected losses.

3·1 month agoChina is advancing tech and currently makes everything for the world. People support progress and innovation.
The US is only advancing financialization and extraction of resources for the wealthy. They are an imperial power that is starting to fail and lash out.

This is their endgame. None of the countries “did anything wrong”, they just happen to exist and defend themselves from colonialist expansion.

1·2 months agoI understand the reality of it, and yes that is their thought process. I don’t believe that coding will stay the same, however there needs to be thought put into it by a human.
I think, eventually, there has to be a certain level of automation or standardization of structural components of code that can be written by AI. But the point is not to replace all coding, but rather, AI being a tool to be used in a specific, and controlled method.

3·2 months agoI think that’s the point. Coding will eventually not be need to be done by developers. Everything will be vibe coded by AI chat bots.
Biggest bottleneck for tech companies being beholden to developers who are usually expensive.

213·2 months agoAdjusting for inflation for let’s say the year 2000 that’s only 150 million. Divide that by four and that leaves you just under 40 million before taxes per band member in 2000 money.
So it’s not really that much money.

8·3 months agoWait till you read about gait recognition. Add that to data streams consolidated by Palantir tracking your gps via cell phone, purchase tracking, and they don’t really need to see your face. They can still track you by your cars registration plates with enough accuracy.
They will have a 90% tracking rate regardless of your face being behind a mask.
