maybe they’re just a man…

maybe they’re just a man…

I feel like the question is about balance though, yes they should censor and obfuscate geographic, but is this being used a shield to prevent any reporting, or is this actually being used for safety?
It seems like the article is implying it is being applied to silence, not protect.

Right?
AI companies stole the collective knowledge, creative juices, and artistic endeavors of the internet, which was shared freely to expand human knowledge and artistry.
Now they wonder why we aren’t willing to pay for their repackaged and pillaged slop…
I see a world where knowledge slowly gets hidden behind the choke hold of AI answers and paywalled sources. How do we hold the line?

the man cares a lot about his image for someone who is an absolute prick.

why don’t you like my dumb ideas?

Damn, that has a chillin effect on free speech… What in the Bluey is this?

was gonna say that but was too afraid cause I’m from reddit.

And this is why I will never step foot in the UAE, even fly on a plane that stops there.

We aren’t invading your land, we’re retreating from our land…

that is comforting to hear, I had not heard any further details about the deal. Curious how it turns out for everyone.

except it will contain lithium ion or other dangerous battery tech, albeit in a small amount, but its still a childrens toy.

the black smoke was supposed to be cover so they can organize… right?

thanks for the update, glad its improving, hope we reach a tipping point for the hardware side cause the way things are going sucks for the general person.

lol five years
I have legos from 1994.
Kind of sad how low the bar is for our expectations these days…

I remember setting up Mindstorms to alert whenever a door was opened, so we could specifically stay up all night reading and know if our parents opened their bedroom door… Simpler times!

Mine definitely does, disables applications and will lock the screen on update demand if you go long enough. At the bottom of the tv says it LG.

HA I’ve been so brainwashed by 2025 I see the word smart and stupidly assume AI.
Looks like its just sensors.
I actually think this makes it worse because it doesn’t really bring a whole lot to the table from a STEM-toy perspective, although I guess learning to utilize sensors could be good for some kids if there is any type of granular control.
I grew up with Lego Mindstorms, so it can definitely inspire.

wow, so just more trash and waste for the sake of making toys AI integrated…?
I’m all for giving kids the tools of the future early (with limits)
but why do we have to make it disposable? (profit, I know, its rhetorical guys).

I followed AI developments in the beginning, but it felt like really effective use cases were always just out of reach.
Last time I was using AI was before “Agentic” AI was a thing (it was just around the corner).
Can anyone clue me in, is AI still making forward progress? I feel like if there was a massive change or breakthrough it would be HUGE news, but I also imagine slow incremental progress could eventually build up to being a breakthrough.
I understand that it is still way too prone to errors and hallucinations to be trusted with serious tasks, but have there been any noteworthy improvements?
yeah that comment is kind of tone deaf, appealing to American’s who are clearly under strain and factually fighting a cyber and information civil war, while not even discussing any shared responsibility to create a back up or alternative… Thanks guys.
How about you guys show the receipts of how much you have personally donated to both? American here, I have donate to Wikipedia yearly (not much, but I always do).
I feel like this lack of shared responsibility is partially why we’re in this mess.
