This is me but 25 years as my main os. I just don’t care to configure if something exists already so I can do the things I actually care about. It’s not the flex that people think it is to install arch. If you can follow the recipe to make boxed Mac and cheese and you can install arch assuming you have do not value your time.
Using it in this manner is explicitly against their tos. You are not the first person trying to abuse the service.
My local science museum does these “for adults” nights and that’s pretty much what it is. No one under 21. Open from 20:00-02:00. You can bring your own bottle of wine (1pp). They bring in a couple new exhibits or change out the existing ones to be more adult. Usually this means advanced but sometimes it’s just a more adult topic. Just a quick bike ride through a few beautiful city parks on a trail and I’m there.
Dev here, there are actual reasons to do this beyond control. It’s a small percentage of the overall population of users who require old browsers. Financially not worth the dev time, and most especially maintenance time for fallback behaviors. Over time there are upgrades and new features added to the browser and to the rendering engines that make our lives much easier or add much desired functionality for users. Users on old browsers may not have these and bringing that functionality is either impossible or cost far exceeds that which is pulled in from the the few.

7 months ago I quit my job for this reason. I thought long and hard about it even bought a ranch. I have joined another team, but one that is pretty critical of ai. They aren’t anti ai, but using it needs to have good reason. I figure this is my last bastion and I’ll ride this.
Since we cannot possibly know for certain I propose that we start making their lives hell now.
Could just use the os for one too
