Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes@lemmy.zip•[ER] Not in a good place rn
5·1 day agoMan, I put ER at first because of the environment, but then I edited it because I thought the character model looked like ds3 and that maybe this was that area in the hub.
Ugh, changing it back.
Intentional or being honorable and not save-scumming?
I see through the lies of the FIDE
How thoughtless of them! I know a comic strip they could read to learn better manners.

AnarchyChess@sopuli.xyz•It's totally a free pawn, Bobby.
19·10 days agoYeah, it’s a famous game (game 1) from the World Chess Champtionship in 1972.
Fischer was flustered about various conditions of the tournament and made an amateurish blunder by taking a “free” pawn with his bishop, which Spassky then immediately trapped.

7·13 days agoMaybe a massive poison footbath?
I need to go back through the favorites for sure. I’ve heard good things about that one.

6·15 days agoI love this
This was my first AC, so I don’t have any frame of reference, but I thought it was great and hope so too. That being said, my favorite FromSoft title (Sekiro) never got a sequel, so I’ve been hurt before.
It’s funny how fuzzy my memory is about this game, but I know I haven’t played it since right after it came out. I remember that I did multiple playthroughs to get the true ending though, if that counts.
I’m not an achievement hunter, I just play, so I’m totally that person. I have many hundred hours in XCOM, and I somehow got some really basic achievements yesterday just by chance because I did something different.
I was using the shotguns a lot, and I think a balance patch nerfed them later, so maybe I got by easier than I should’ve.
…talking about this is making me want to replay.
It’s been long enough that I can barely remember the specific bosses, but some of them took me forever!
Just looked him up, and I remember Balteus too. Yeah, that was a learning curve.
This was the one that I had to grind out over and over and over…

People Twitter@sh.itjust.works•Gaining his blessing
17·15 days agoI don’t know if it came from elsewhere first, but it’s not very common nowadays in the US.
It’s old-fashioned, and it’s not like the woman’s parents have the authority to say ‘no’. It’s more like a gesture of humility, then a “we accept you into our family” sort of thing. If someone does it these days, it’s probably in the south and with a really traditional family who they’re trying to impress.

So, I guess it wasn’t like a similar role that he was known for, just that he was also fat.

2·15 days agoSome people argue that we’re pathologizing normal boy behavior with regard to ADHD specifically, because the gender split is very disproportionate.
I think that’s possible, however, an alternative explanation could be that it’s legit, and boys are just more prone to some disorders and girls are to others. Who knows? The whole thing is way less precise and objective than it would be in a perfect world.

4·15 days agoYeah, it’s extremely common. Pair that motivated sentiment with a kid who’s in the diagnosable age range (or an adult), and a diagnosis is almost guaranteed.
Most mental health diagnoses are dependent on subjective reporting of symptoms and history, so if someone - or their parent - want the label or have otherwise already convinced themselves that it’s true, their self-reported history is going to be colored by that, and most clinicians are going to err on the side of the treatment that the client wants.

Through a combination of diagnostic creep, laymen/casual use of psych terminology, and the odd cultural trend of label-seeking over the past 10-15 years, many diagnoses have been watered down. Autism and ADHD are probably at the forefront.
I like to do the same. I remember it especially with Armored Core.
